The purpose of this study is to explore whether the two stories in 「hwangsaeGyeolsong」(황새결송) are connected by some theme or problem or show interest in them. The purpose is the process one must go through to view the work itself as it is in order to understand its reality and find its value. Finding the reality and value of a work is to understand its individual characteristics and interpret them efficiently. The contents of this study are as follows. First, economic conflicts over the distribution of property inherited from ancestors appear in the conflict between the rich and the family. Second, in the conflict between the rich and the judge, the will and practice of fighting for recognition to achieve the goal of ensuring that one’s actions and attitudes are just are at play. Third, as the story changes from the first to the second, the nature of the conflict changes from economic conflict to ethical conflict, which is the issue of securing fairness. The results of this study are as follows. First, conflict is what constitutes the work with the elements revealed on the surface of the work. This clearly shows the conflicting positions between the characters. Second, the struggle for recognition and issues of fairness are established as elements that support the work. The characters struggle for recognition from their respective perspectives, but when they come together and raise the issue together, they are fighting over the issue of securing ‘fairness’, which is a fight over which side will secure justice.
