This study aims to suggest the direction of Donghak research to the next generation of Donghak studies. Since problems of people’s livelihood occur throughout our society, research directions with people’s livelihood in mind will help improve the expandability of Donghak research. As a research method, essential themes of people’s livelihood were explored by area to provide inspiration for setting the research direction. However, the detailed analysis work for it was minimized. The content of this study was carried out with a focus on improving the livelihood of humans and ecosystems from the perspective of equality and win-win. First, I paid attention to the inequality system caused by the 1% vested interest for winwin in human society. Second, for the win-win between humans and the ecosystem, the organic relationship between all things was paid attention to. Third, I paid attention to the reason why Donghak, which is an obstacle to the expansion of Donghak research, is ‘dying’. The results of this study were derived from the practical point of view of ‘doing Donghak’. First, it is necessary to reform from vested interest-centered systems such as unlimited competition or neoliberalism to a community-centered social system. Second, a great shift in the perception that the Earth’s ecosystem is also an equal being with humans is required. Third, through various forms of civic movements including the vegan diet, it is possible to recover as a ‘living’ Donghak.
